My name is Cecilia Lopez and I am an high school student photographer. I began taking photographs freshmen year of high school, since then I have sprouted a deep love and admiration for photography. Photography has intrigued me and allowed me to tell such untold stories that I feel need to be shared and capture moments and emotions that I personally find important. As an artist, my goal is to challenge myself creatively and take risks so I can share unseen perspectives with the world through photography.
At my high school, I am also a journalism student. I have had my work published on the school newspaper. Journalism like photography has allowed me to share my own views and perspectives.
Recognitions: This year I won two Silver Key Medals and three Honorable Mentions from the 2017 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
